1999 ford ranger 4x4 shaking?
I have a shaking in my ranger. Feels like a bent rim. Starts out with very little wobble from taking off. Then between 40-50 mph its very bad shaking. I have replaced tires. Rims. Front bearings. Replaced the air lock hubs to Manuel hubs. Replaced rear end gears and bearings. And back hubs. Replaced all the brakes. And it still does it. Before I changed my tires the shake was barely their. And then I changed tires and it was bad. Iv tried different rims and bought brand new tires. Which have been balanced. I'm at a loss. Iv also replaced ball joints and tie rod ends with all moog parts. Also changed rotors.
Jack the whole truck up, have someone else start it, put it in 4wd, put it in gear and get to 50mph, and you check the rims and anything that might be shaking. Could it be an out of balance drive shaft?
OR
Have someone else drive the truck on a highway or expressway, while another drives you near by so you can inspect both sides at actual highway speeds.
Check control arm bushings and (perhaps--IDK) if it has strut bars running from control arm to frame--check those. Pitman arm and linkages would be next. I'm surprised you've yet to set the ranger wheels up in the air and check for slack in steering.
Check the engine mounts.
- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
- My buddy has a 99 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 that is leaking oil from rear passenger wheel. Any ideas on why? The brake cover is not pushed all the way against the hub. There's a half inch gap between them. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. So it has nothing to do with the wheel bearing?
- My 2000 Ford Ranger 4X4 randomly quit running? It only has 101k miles. It ran great before, but now it just quit and won't even start. Anyone know what this could be? I don't really have the money to take it to the shop right now.
- Clutch slipping on 94 ford ranger 4x4 v6 4.0 manual trann? I recently bought a 94 ford ranger V6 4.0 4x4 manual, but the clutch is definitely slipping. I bought a new clutch set, master cylinder, slave cylinder, hydraulic release system, and upgraded clutch hydraulic line connection from Power Torque… Does anyone know all the tools I will need? As well as a step by step installation guide? I don't have $2,200(the lowest price in town) to spend taking it to a shop… Please help!
