This is a very good video on all the things that can go wrong with a cooling system and how to find the problems.
What is the year of your car? If it is older than six years old the cooling system needs to be drained, flushed and CLEANED with one part powered acid cooling system cleaner to get the corrosion, rust and slime out.
Your car should always have a 50/50 mix of Ford Antifreeze (prevents rust) and distilled water in the system. Always fill the cooling system when the engine is stone cold.
If the radiator keeps loosing coolant, take the car to a Ford Dealer and ask them to do an inexpensive *cooling system pressure test which will find any external or internal cooling system leaks.
- Why did my 2000 Ford Windstar just blow all off the tranny fluid out. But now its not leaking anything? I drove it with a trailer attached all day then I dropped the trailer off and drove home. When a was turning on to my street the car violently shuck but kept going I pulled into my drive way and looked under my car and big puddle of tranny fluid everywhere. So I filled it up this morning and drove it 75 miles and when I got back I was still full on fluid and nothing was leaking. So WHY?
- Replaced cylinder heads and head gaskets, but car is still overheating? 97 Ford Taurus, replaced the cylinder head and head gaskets. Car started fine and we let it run for a while before taking it out for a test drive. After about ten minutes the car started to overheat again, coolant came out and steam came from under hood. We also replaced the thermostat. What other possibilities are there?
- Ford mustang 2001 v6 3.8L code p1285, overheating, radiator leaking? My car has the p1285 code. Radiator pukes from the bottom. I refill radiator and temp is stable but overheats as the water drains from radiator. -I replaced thermostat -belt is good, running -no leaking from hoses -fan works -no leaks from anywhere else. -AC works What could it be? Bad sensor?
- Owner of 2003 ford focus, car keeps needing a jump. Last time I did when the cables came off the car shut off? The car lasted a couple of days the last time I jumped it. I believe It's just my battery but how would I know it has anything to do with my accelerator as well?
