What could be wrong with my car?
Like 2 months a go I took my Mustang 2002 to Good Guys because my temperature gauge was failing and my SERVICE ENGINE SOON light was on. I took it to them and they told me it was the coolant sensor, so since that time I've gone back to them because the temp gauge keeps failing and my light keeps coming on, they have replaced that sensor like 4 times already and even ordered one form the ford dealer and still the problem isn't fixed. I guess every time they scan the code it tells them its the sensor… But why would it fail so many times? Do you think its some wiring problems or what could it be?
Sometimes my temp gauge won't even work at all, like if the car was turned off.
Hi, take it to a different shop. You have a leak in the cooling system. It could be as simple as a bad Radiator cap not holding the proper amount of pressure (7 to 14 lbs) . Take it to a different shop.
I'm not sure about Mustangs but I had a Mazda RX7 Turbo that had a similar problem and it was a bubble that would form in the cooling system that would not allow the antifreeze to flow around the sensor. They had the bleed the system and it always fixed it.

- My 99 ford Taurus has a milky brown fluid in the coolant tank. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong? The engine oil is fresh, with no milky color. It is an amber brown. the tranny fluid is pink/red my car will start, however it will not leave park. The gear shift will move but the car will not leave park. someone said it could be my head gasket however the car NEVER ran hot nor did it have any white smoke. ill take any suggestions or help offered.
- My mechanic put 5w30 oil in my ford ranger instead of 5w20. What could go wrong? Took my 2007 2.3L ford ranger in for an oil change, and they put 5W30 oil in it instead of the 5W20 that is shown in the book. Will this cause any problems, should i call them and have it changed/?
- I have a 99 ford ranger that won't start. What could be wrong with it? None of the lights work, lock buttons won't work, absolutely nothing works. I tried jumping it and that didn't work. The truck doesn't make the clicking noise when i try to start it. I know nothing about cars. I just want a general idea of what could be wrong. I don't like going to mechanics without a vague idea of what could be wrong. I've had mechanics do a lot of stuff that didn't need to be done and it costed way to much
- Anyone possibly know what could be wrong with my brakes? I was driving home from work and out of nowhere the pedal sinks down to the floor. I tried bleading the breaks and that didn't work. My truck is a 98 ford ranger xlt 4 cylinder. I can't take it to a shop now cuz it has no brakes.
