I have a 99 ford ranger that won't start. What could be wrong with it?
None of the lights work, lock buttons won't work, absolutely nothing works. I tried jumping it and that didn't work. The truck doesn't make the clicking noise when i try to start it. I know nothing about cars.
Added (1). I just want a general idea of what could be wrong. I don't like going to mechanics without a vague idea of what could be wrong. I've had mechanics do a lot of stuff that didn't need to be done and it costed way to much
Sounds like the connection from the battery to the car is incomplete, have someone check the main wiring foryou
Get a mechanic to figure it out.
Can b as simple as New battery needed
Dead battery and a dead alternator and a bad starter
Bad battery or blown fusible link.
A battery that's COMPLETELY dead or has internal dead cells will prevent starting the car by jumping.

- My car won't start in very cold weather! What's wrong with it and what's the solution? I've got a Ford Taurus 2003. When it gets very cold about = it cranks but won't start. There's no problem with the battery and the cables are tightened and fixed. However when I open the fuse box and move the fuses up and down and push them down real hard it starts just as normal. - My mechanic put 5w30 oil in my ford ranger instead of 5w20. What could go wrong? Took my 2007 2.3L ford ranger in for an oil change, and they put 5W30 oil in it instead of the 5W20 that is shown in the book. Will this cause any problems, should i call them and have it changed/?
- I have a 1997 ford ranger XLT and there's something wrong with my heater? When I turn the heat selector it doesn't do anything. Could there be something wrong with the vacuum. My truck is a 2.3 l 4 cylinder with 8 sparkplugs. How can I fix this? Also could something be preventing the trap doors from opening when I put it to a different selection
- 99 ford ranger clicks once, but won't start what could be wrong? The truck was running fine, but the day before yesterday it wouldn't start. All the lights and stereo come on so its not the battery. When you turn the key it clicks once but doesn't start. All the plugs are new and the belts, and the transmission is new too.
