Paddle shifters in Ford mustang v6 automatic 2017?

So, I just got this car and I'm not sure if its a good thing or bad to use paddle shifters. Will I get the instant pickup like manual transmission by putting car in Sport mode and putting the gear in D and doing gear shifts.

Why don't you try it?

Stupid question. You don't know how to use them, so obviously you shouldnt use them.

It will change faster than a manual.
Just let the car do it most of the time.
It still changes far quicker than a manual and makes better decisions than most drivers.

It won't shift any faster than it normally would, you just get to choose when the gear shifts happen.

Suggest you just leave them alone.

Of course it's "OK" to use them. If it wasn't, Ford wouldn't have fitted them would they.

And no, it won't give you any more power. It simply lets you control the gear the car is in. For instance you can downshift as you approach a corner, then the car is already in a lower gear and ready to power out of the apex of the corner. An automatic tends to hesitate as it shifts down AFTER you plant boot.

So there are valid reasons to want to use them. But if you don't know what they are, just leave the paddles alone and steer.

Let the car d it

What?

Hi so watch the fuel gauge move when you use the shifters a lot. As it drinks more fuel. The same is true of the sports mode you had better believe it kid. My galaxy does acts more and more like a Mustang every day. Yes we do go like poop of a shovel but at what cost.

What?
