What would win, a 2017 Subaru WRX STI or a 2017 Ford Mustang 3.7 V6 if they raced
I have a bet with a friend that the STI would win and he thinks the mustang would, I don't need statistics like "the mustang has 300hp and the STI has 305" and yes I'm aware the driver makes a huge difference being standard vehicles, thanks for the answers
According to published performance stats, in a 0-60 trial, the Mustang should have the WRX beat by a half second. Quarter mile it should be a dead heat give or take a tenth of a second or two. To improve the 0-60 and quarter mile time and have a chance of winning your bet, run your WRX with nothing in the car but minimum fuel and yourself, and make sure your friend has a full tank, the spare tire and jack, a friend in the passenger seat (as a "witness") and a bunch of other heavy stuff. A "nice" guy would offer to fill up the gas tank for him before the race. ;>)
STI in quarter mile and about the same 0-60.
The Subaru has 4 wheel drive.
It is lighter and is designed as a rally car.
The Subaru is 4.8seconds to 60 and 158MPH top speed.
The Mustang takes 5.6 seconds to 60 and tops out at 121MPH.

The STI is quicker, but, and this a a big but, the driver of the the STI will have to be willing to really be brutal on the the car. You have to get the turbo spooled and then dump the clutch, which is hard on AWD car's mechanical well being. In race where you don't do that, the STI is caught off-boost, and the Mustang wins. The 5-60 MPH times of a given car are more telling to how quick a car is the real world. And even though the STI can get to 60 in under 5 seconds with a CV-joint breaking launch, it's 5-60 time is closer to 6 and half seconds, with the Mustang's being just under 6 seconds.
I've driven both. The V6 Mustang is way slower than any off the figures quoted here, I think they are referring to the V8. The Subaru would win a drag race easily and on a track (not an oval) would be even further ahead as the Mustang wallows around the corners.
The V8 would maybe edge the Subaru in a drag race, but the superior handling of the Subaru would have it way ahead on a track.

My friends Rudy and Chris want to race each other… Rudy has a 2017 ford raptor and Chris has a 2016 Nissan Titan xd Cummins turbo diesel… Chris feels he has a chance because the Titan has a 5.3 liter v8 engine and the raptor is a v6, but rudys truck has twin turbo!
- Subaru Brz or Ford Mustang? Which should I get? The mustang is faster but the brz has a nicer interior for less money. I want to stay under 30k so I can't get a gt mustang or anything. I want the mustang because it's fast but I want the brz because it looks nicer in my opinion and if I got a brz, I could probably get it fully loaded. My only problem with the brz is that it is kind of slow. What do guys think?

I'm wanting something fast and am considering the wrx and the mustang. Sometimes I drive with a couple other people in the car. Reliability is very important to me. Which one should I buy? Are there any other cars that you guys would recommend?
