So long as the oil and filter have been regularly changed, and the price is low, go for it. The modern electronic fuel injected engine will run 250 to 300 thousand miles. You will need to change out the alternator and water pump eventually. You should buy the Chilton or Haines manual for it and learn to do your own basic maintenance.
A car does not really wear being driven at constant speed on highway for long distance; what wears them is the change of regime, the stop and go of city traffic.
So, it could be OK if the car was not abused.
- Is it a good idea for an 18 year old to buy a $20,000 Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang or a challenger? I just graduated HS getting into college and I'm thinking of buying a used or brand new car ( listed above) I have about 5000 for down payment. But I'm just not sure if it's a good financial decision, but at the same time I really want the car. Please leave your opinion below! My credit score is like 650!
- Half quart over in oil, is that okay? 2005 Freestar. Thought it took almost 6 qts like my Duratec in my othrr Ford. Maybe half quart over and couple hundred miles from home on vacation. Should I buy a 15mm box wrench for a few bucks and drain it off, or is it not a big deal.
- Pennzoil High Mileage vs Castrol GTX High Mileage? My local auto store has 5 quarts of Pennzoil High Mileage for 16.99, but 5 quarts of Castrol GTX High Mileage on sale for 9.99$. Which one is better, or does it not even matter and I should just get the cheaper one? It's going in a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with 155*** miles on it.
- Is my Car okay or Broken? Please VIEW THIS LINK FIRST! In the link there's a picture 'under the hood' of a Ford Fiesta exactly like mine (It is not my car). Firstly I would like to know what the two parts circled are and why one has a disk on top and the other doesn't. Also on the top of the one on the left (Circled) there's some liquid that is sort of browny white. It pretty much looks like peppercorn sauce. What is that and is my car broken?
