I found grease in my transmission pan in my 2000 ford Mustang 3.8l is it normal?
When you pulled the transmission pan and noticed burnt smells as the clutch packs are burning up. Only slight dust from the clutch packs is acceptable anything more requires a transmission rebuild as the job is suited for a transmission shop.
It's not grease. It's clutch dust from the clutch packs, and some is normal; Just make sure nothign smells burnt.
It was sludge not grease though it felt like grease. Typical condition make sure it gets cleaned completely in that pan.
- Is it normal to have to fill the gas tank of a 2000 ford Taurus se every week? Don't laugh. I'm ignorant about cars and this is my first one. I own a 2000 Taurus station wagon. I drive 6 miles to work and 6 miles back every day and don't drive many other places than that. I live in the city. I'm filling my tank every week and my boyfriend says that's way too much. He says I should replace the spark plugs. Would he be correct?
- Does the oil pan have to be removed to change the rear main seal on a ford 3.0L V6 in a 2000 ford ranger? I have the engine removed from the truck and was swaping in a salvaged engine that all checks out good except for a slight leaking rear main seal. So, after inspecting the rear main seal, it appears as though a could just slide it out and a new one in. Does the oil pan need to be removed? Or can I just carefully remove the old seal and clean the surfaces good and install a new one?
- 2000 ford ranger 3.0 4x4 oil pan gasket replacement? What's it take to change? Step by step guide would be helpful. Personal tricks of the trade. What specific tools I need. Can I drop the pan enough to clean off old gasket and slide new one in? Evening day or all day or weekend project.
- On my 2000 ford mustang why does my air pump (smog pump) only blow air for 5 seconds after start up? Is that normal? I have p0411 secondary air injection system insufficient flow detected. I've checked the hose that comes out from the pump, it's blowing air but I believe it should blow air for much longer than 5 seconds on start up.
