How to change gear ratios?

I have a 2014 ford mustang v6 premium without the performance package, I didn't really research about it but now that i know about it i want the 3.31 gear ratio. How would i go about doing this?

If you're looking for straight line acceleration, then you may want to add a limited slip differential too. Take the car to your local Ford dealer's garage and ask the guys in the service department about changing rear axle gear sets. They should be able to reprogram your car's computer to correct the speedometer too.

Since your car is so new, the bearings and other internal parts should be in good shape. You'll need to buy a ring and pinion gear set and a installation kit which includes a new crush sleeve, pinion nut, gear oil, etc.I'm not sure what gearset comes factory installed but you wanna step up 2-3 ratios or you won't feel any difference in acceleration.A 3.55 is a great compromise between acceleration and fuel economy. If your vehicle is under warranty, you'll need to ask if this job voids your warranty on the differential components.
