How much would it cost for a complete new brake system?

It would be for a 1970 Ford Mustang.

Brakes not working is a very vague term. A worst case scenario requiring new lines, hoses, pads, shoes, drums, discs, calipers, booster, pistons, hardware and master cylinder will probably run somewhere in the $1500 to $2500 range.

  • Is it possible to get a new transmission for an older car, if so, how much would it cost? I'm looking at buying a 2003 Ford Taurus with 85,000 miles on it. No, there are no transmission problems. I'm just thinking that if it were done now, that could add a lot of life onto the vehicle. And it would make sense because my estimate is that a new transmission is less that what this car is worth.
