For $30,000 would you rather have a used but cool, exotic car or a brand new but common car?
I want to buy a summer car and I've seen a clean, low mileage 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera for $28K. But at the same time, I could buy either a 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T or Ford Mustang 2.3 ecoboost with that amount (before you say that the ecoboost mustang is lame, I'm the sort of person who likes it more than the GT). I've always wanted a Porsche and i like it's looks more and it won't depreciate that rapidly but the upkeep of the other 2 cars is cheaper. Expensive upkeep is not an issue but obviously the cheaper the better
Added (1). This won't be my daily driver btw so practicality is not required. This is just a summer "cruising" car. I already have a working car
Bottom line, if I'm buying a Porsche, it's not going to be a lowly Carrera. If it's not a GT2/GT3-RS, I wouldn't own it. So I'd rather go buy a 2 year old Boss 302 mustang that's faster in every conceivable way than a base Carrera 2.
If it was to be your main source of transportation, a new car would likely be more reliable and less expensive to maintain.
But, since you already have a daily-driver, follow your dream and go for the Porsche.
You should buy the car that you like which is the Porsche.
If its just to cruise around in definetly the Porschce! But treat it well as being an older car it will cost more than a new car to service.

monster truck
Even if you only drive it in the summer the Porsche is gonna cost you a ton more in repairs so it's gonna be a lot more than $30k. But it's a Porsche. In the end pick whatever you want.
Personally I'd get something both mild and used for even cheaper, but that's me. Maybe you have money to blow on big toys.
Oh I can't decide. I'd feel like a pathetic ***** asking though (NOT you). What to do.
- Will ford ever give the Mustang an exotic sports car look? For example; Ferrari, Porsche, Mazarati, Lamborghini, Lotus And how can i suggest this to the Ford Motor Company?
- If you have enough money, can you have a new classic car built? Like can I pay to have ford build me a 1970 Mustang? Lets say I don't want to buy an old car and restore it, I want a 1970 but straight off the factory line. Can you have a car built with the old style frame, engine, trans, etc?
- Looking to buy a car privately which hasn't been serviced in 4 years but only 9000km (they bought the car brand new)? As above. the car is a Ford EcoSport 1.5 titanium it has 9000km only but they say they've never had it serviced? should I stay away from this car? also, since there's no service history could this be a case of odometer roll back fraud?
- Gamers vs Gearheads: who would you rather date? Would a girl rather date a big, strong, stereotypical "good ol' boy" who rides around town in a jacked up Ford or a rebuilt Camaro who spends most of his time working in a garage or a stereotypical adorably awkward gamer who spends most of his time playing video games on his gaming computer that he built. You choose, who and why?
