About how much does it cost to insure a classic car, like a 1965 Ford Mustang?
I'ma 24 year old man and this would be daily driver?
There are specialty insurers for classic and collectible cars. Hagerty is the one I use for my 1929 Ford. The prices are very reasonable. Cost varies obviously, depending on value, level of coverage, usage, location etc etc etc.
It's much cheaper than insuring a newer car for sure.
More than you have in your piggy bank.
Depends on the value of the Mustang. The value varies widely depending on condition and which engine transmission combo you have.
Hi no idea and no one can tell you only the insurance company as different companies view them different ways.
Not to be "that guy" or anything but it may seem like a good idea at first to use a classic car as a daily driver but it's not. I used my 1967 chevelle as a daily driver for 1 year and I couldn't do it anymore people were either always on my a** trying to see what car it is or punk kids in my town would cut me off to see if my brakes worked well. Cops would often pull me over to check the pipes (I had pretty loud ones so at 12:00 at night it was a noise violation) and the list goes on. Point is it seems like a cool idea at the start but it's really not.
I don't know…
- Why don't car companies remake some of their classic car models if people like them so much? Of course safety is in mind because everyone would freak out if they didn't have a seat belt and air bags in every inch of the car, but why can't some of the companies just remake their best selling car models? Dodge could remake their 1948 Sedan and Ford could remake their 1949 Custom. I could list more but I can't think of any more classics.
- Old classic cars vs newer classic cars? I'm looking at a 1974 corvette stingray and I'm thinking about buying it but at the same time i've been looking at f-body and fox body camaros and mustangs I need help narrowing down my decision so I would like to hear your opinions on whether to get the 74 stingray or the f- body and fox body mustangs
- If you have enough money, can you have a new classic car built? Like can I pay to have ford build me a 1970 Mustang? Lets say I don't want to buy an old car and restore it, I want a 1970 but straight off the factory line. Can you have a car built with the old style frame, engine, trans, etc?
- How much would it cost to maintain (annually) a 1965 Ford Mustang? I'm planning to purchase a 1965 Mustang. The one I'm looking at is mechanically sound, and in very good overall condition. I will probably drive it 5K-7K miles/yr. I don't work on vehicles myself so it will have to go to a mechanic for service. Can anyone give me a rough estimate?
