How much would it cost to maintain (annually) a 1965 Ford Mustang?

I'm planning to purchase a 1965 Mustang. The one I'm looking at is mechanically sound, and in very good overall condition. I will probably drive it 5K-7K miles/yr.
I don't work on vehicles myself so it will have to go to a mechanic for service.

Can anyone give me a rough estimate?

As a daily driver I would not recommend a classic vehicle, since it is an american vehicle the parts will be easier and cheaper to find but when repairs are necessary it will be in the shop for days at a time. A car like this is best served as a weekend plesure driver

You do not drive that classic that many miles… You do small restores to factory condition…( don't sacrifice getting a home for it )… Reason… You will never get back what you put into it… Just enjoy the spring / summer drive and then back into the garage.

No one can guess what's going to break 60 + year old car if you can't fix it yourself you must have a lot of money.
How you drive it will be a big factor. What's the fun in putting around you may as well buy a Camry if thats all you want to do.

If it's in good shape, it can be dependable and the upkeep won't cost much more than a newer car. The hardet thing is to find a mechanic that can work on it.

It would be affordable. You will want to join a forum for owners of classic Fords to learn the tricks and sources for parts. Mustangs are easier to find parts for than many cars of that era.
