A good used sports car for the first driver?

I'm gonna be turning 16 soon and I'm thinking about getting a good sports (or sporty looking) car. And my budget is somewhere less than $5000 ($6000 at the very maximum). So far, I've thought of these…

1. 2000 Toyota Celica GT/GTS
2. 2003 Ford Mustang GT
3. 1985 Corvette (I don't know if it's good or not in this day and age…)
4. 1996 Camaro Z28
5. 2007 Dodge Charger (a bit too pricey as of June 2014)

I'd like some help here…

Oh, I live in Kansas, by the way. Lots of roads to drive on and lots of snow in the winter…

You need to get used to driving before stepping into those cars
All teenage drivers are bad drivers because of the learning curve. Most deny it but it's a fact. You don't need a fast car because most economy cars can go beyond the speed limit. I suggest getting a Ford Focus or Toyota Corolla

The insurance costs for any of those sports cars for a 16 year old driver is going to be EXPENSIVE. Why? Because 16 year olds wreck these cars often and hurt themselves or other people. Get a nice Honda Civic until you get old enough to know what you're doling and can get cheaper insurance.

You're at the start of your life and you could make a choice to either to spend most of your money on SPORTS CARS OR SPORTY LOOKING CARS or you could go to the library and consult Consumer Reports car issue and follow their advice based on the frequency of repairs charts for all makes and models. This is an important decision that will affect your entire life. Many of my friends and acquaintances have wasted the better portion of their life's earnings trying to drive "cool" cars. I hope you can chose the second one - Good Luck.

No offense but for a beginner maybe you should get a compact car or something cheaper. I mean on icy roads and fast car, not a good mix.

First, check with your parents insurance company. The cars you like carry an extra charge for young driver with fast car. That may stop you. Then think about driving in ice and snow with those cars, not good. You need some four wheel drive heavier car for both safety and an affordable insurance payment.

You do not need a car. You are LAZY. GET UP AND DO SOMETHING. Do not sit around all day. DON't DO LAZY.
