1966 mustang engine swap?

OK I asked a question about my 200ci inline 6 and got mixed feeling i also have no car restoration experience. I'm 22 and everyone wants me to so I'm just going to drop a Ford 302 engine in her. One problem my grandfather has 2 1 carb and 1 fuel injected which one would be better in my car I live in upstate New York. Also work related will I have to do a lot in the engine bay ie trim it down and metal work? The fuel injected came out of a f150 I don't know if it's two big or not be I was told any 302 would fit in her fine up to 2000 models. Also I know I will need to upgrade her chassis brakes and suspension which I'm still looking for thank you

You will need to use the front end from the 289 v8 instead of the 6 cylinder ones and upgrade the brakes and suspention at the same time. The v8 stuff is heavier and stronger than the 6 cylinder stuff.

both will fit as the 302 windsor was a bored out 289.

for a novice, efi isn't for kids. As there will be a lot more wring work to do as well as making various sensors and swapping efi fuel pump and making return lines etc

for ease of install go for the carborettor there are a few aftermarket kits if you want to install efi later on.

Either would fit with no engine compartment metal work. The carbed one would be easiest to install since they originally came with a carbed 289 and all those parts could be used to install the 302. Motor mounts, wiring, linkages, etc. The injected one would need a computer and the sensors it needs to work, high pressure fuel pump in the tank, and all the wiring needed to make it work. Either would need a bigger radiator and full exhaust system.

You should have plenty of room to fit the fuel injected carburetor.
