Misleading Ford Commercial?

Right so there's this ford commercial about keyless entry. Saying that you don't have to search for the keys. Problem is, you still need the passive key. Which means if you lose it you will still need to search for it. Is this ad misleading? And if it was in the handbag wouldn't Someone steal that handbag and use it to enter the car?

So what do you want, The passive key 'implanted' within your body like a micro-chip on a dog?

Obviously there has to be some type of 'key' - electronic or not.

Perhaps they mean not having to search your pockets or handbag for a key. Not misleading. Yes you still need that passive transmitter on your person or the car will not activate. And yes, there can be security concerns with a keyless system. I drove on vacation in a rented Prius with the keyless system and I liked it but it sure took some getting used to. For example; are the doors really locked when you walk away?

The Ford Explorer, and I'm sure others, have a keyless button and a push-button start so there isn't a key, passive or otherwise. If the key switch is in the handbag, it's close enough to the sensor to activate when the button on the dash is pushed by the driver. It doesn't do anything if, say a window gets broken by a thief, and they try to push the button to steal the car… Unless the owner is 3 feet away and let the people just steal it!

  • Ford taurus, ford focus, ford escort or mercury cougar? Looking for a new used car, anyone know if any of these are bad cars? They're all in the 2000-2005 range I'm leaning towards the focus cause it gets good mileage and has good storage, also I've heard it does alright in snow. Anyone have any bad experiences with any of these cars or have any bad feedback?
