Military Jeep Good First Car?
I was wondering if old WW2 military jeeps were good first cars? I'm 14 and I'm looking for a durable and reliable vehicle that I can work on until I get my license at 16. How bad is the gas mileage? Are they even street legal? Are 1950s/60s regular civilian jeeps good better than military jeeps? I'd either like an old 70s ford or an old jeep… Thanks!
Old Willis Jeeps have no automatic trans, seat belts, or any safety features. They have undersized engines and governers that limit speed to 50 MPH. NOT a good investment for an everyday driver. Stick with a car that's not older than you.
Old jeeps are hard to find and are pricey. They are easy to work on and they probably will need lots of work, but otherwise I think it would be a good choice. Do a search:
"jeeps for sale". You might even find an old US Postal Mail jeep for sale. Right-hand drive, in-line 4-cylinder. I believe they all were manual transmissions.
- I'm in high school and about to get my first car looking for a loud, fast and good looking car So far I have looked into ford mustangs, I have a choice between a 2007 ford mustang gt with a 8 cylinder motor with automatic transmission, or I can get a 2013 mustang v6. My question is which of the two cars is a faster and louder car cause I would like to show it off and have heads turn by its engine as I drive off on the street. Thank you very much about to get my first car looking for a loud, fast and good looking car?
- Good first car? NSX? Muscle Car? I'm 15 and starting to think of some cars that I would want (and are possible to obtain, '67 Pontiac GTO '68 Roadrunner Hemi '70 Ford Torino '79 Firebird Formula 400 '85-'90 Camaro '67 Impala '73 Nova '78 Camaro '66 Oldsmobile Toronado So, would the value of the NSX be worth buying and fixing up? And which, if any, muscle car is the top of your list and why?
- Explain Military Grade Aluminum? Ford claims it's new F-100 is made with Military Grade Aluminum. I know about 1100+ 2024 etc but what is Military Grade? Or is this just another load of Advertising Cr*p from Ford?
- Which car is a good first car? I'm a 16 year old guy and I'm currently looking for a car. I'm used to driving trucks and SUVs. The height helps avoid bumps. I don't want to sit on the ground. I need 4WD for the winter. I found 3 SUVs that I'm really interested in. -2000 Ford Explorer XLT -2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer -2005 Ford Expedition Limited -1999 Lincoln Navigator Which one is best? Which one should I get and why?
