I'm thinking of buying a 2005 ford KA with 30K miles on clock, when should the timeing belt be changed? - 1

Well william… Apart from it being a girls car only… They are the biggest rust bucket ford have produced for the last 30 years

Having checked I have found it is possible to buy a Cambelt kit for a 1.3i, 1.6 or a 1.6i 2005 Ka so it must have one.
48k or 4 years whichever comes first

I would wait another 18k miles unless you can afford to do it now

All belt changes will be in Ford scheduled maintenance list of that car. Available at any dealer. In owners manual and can be checked online. It varies according to use. But is specified as a mileage or age whichever comes first. As not doing any miles. Will still need belt change to prevent fail later. If w have a high mileage car. Then belt will need changing at specified max set point.

If the timing belt has never been changed tell the seller you'll need to replace the timing belt because it's 12 years old and knock $700 off of the price.

  • Thinking about buying this car, but don't know anything about vehicles I was looking at this Ford Focus SES 2009 with about 123,000 miles. Priced around 7,999. Kbb says it's worth about 6,500 so there's some wiggle room in price. The Carfax shows that its battery has been replaced 2-3 times, and it's been sold at dealer auctions a few times as well. I was just wondering if the dealer auction is a bad thing? Or if that's an unreasonable amount of times the battery has gone bad? Thanks for your help in advance! Clueless about vehicles!
  • Ford Focus - At what mileage should the timing belt be changed? - 1 I'm interested in purchasing a Ford Focus between 98-04 and I was wondering does anyone know when the timing belt/cam belt should be replaced?
  • 2006 Ford Focus with 147k miles or 2005 Hyundai Elantra with 100k miles? Looking for a car for a student, I've received 2 offers, a 2006 Ford Focus for $4000 cash or a 2005 Hyundai Elantra for $4900 with $2000 down and the rest financed. Which would be a better deal? Go with the payment plan or scrap up all my cash? Both cars have been well maintained but can someone who knows cars tell me which would last longer?
  • Ford Fiesta 2012 model (69 000km on the clock / 42 000 miles) Aircon has seized - warranty? So I'm wondering - our ford fiesta is covered under warranty until 120 000km and it's on 69 000… We, however, serviced the car through a friend of ours who is a qualified mechanic - and DID use all ford parts. We were driving just the other day and our air con compressor seized. This is practically a brand new car. Is the air con still under warranty if we self serviced the car? It is definitely a manufacturing issue and has NOTHING to do with the service.
