Ford Ka making a constant clicking noise while driving?
Car was only serviced a few months ago. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Seemed to be coming from under the car but I can't be sure.
You need someone who knows to ride along and hear the noise. It's virtually impossible to diagnose sounds without hearing them.
Many things can cause clicking. Speedometer / Odometer may need lubrication, something caught in a wheel, your hazard lights or flasher turned on, noisy lifters, ignition ping or knock, valve clogged and not firing. Many other possibilities. You will need to put it up on a lift, start the car, and look at all the moving parts, listen to each, that might be in motion and locate the noise.
Wheel bearing going. Get it checked in case I'm correct.
Could be as simple as a pebble stuck in the tyre tread, or it could be a failing wheel bearing, c.v. Joint, internal bearings in the gearbox, engine, alternator or (if your car has them) air-con compressor or power steering pump.
- 2000 Ford Taurus Popping noise while driving? Have a popping noise while driving, typically i would expect something simple like ball joints, tie rods, cv axle etc. But its at an odd time, its randomly while driving straight, no bumps or anything. It kind of sounds like something is hitting the underside of the car like a chunk of mud. Any ideas? Ball joint are new and the axles don't pop or make noises when turning. Someone suggested the engine mount on passenger side. This is the DOHC variation.
- Just pulled front brakes of 96 ford ranger xl and now scraping noise while driving? Pulled front brakes off my truck to see how wore out they were because they were squeeling put them back on perfectly no hassle and now when I drive I hear a horrible scraping noise on right front passenger side but I stop on a dime and my brakes don't get hot or smell I'm so confused please help?
- 2001 Ford Ranger clicks once then won't turn over, and when key is turned off, it begins making a clicking relay noise under the dash? - 1 I've had this happen before, and the last couple times I just undid the battery and put it back in and it started right up. The battery has a charge, the alternator is new, and I tried jumping the battery just in case. So I know it's not that. I'm thinking it could be something in the ignition switch because sometimes I have to lift up on the shifter knob for it to register that it's in park and turn over. Any ideas?
- 03 ford ranger 3.0L v6 making clicking noise? A few days ago my ranger started making a clicking noise from the engine. It increases with the rpms and seems to go away when torque is applied like going up a hill. I had probably waited too long to change my oil and I just changed it and it seemed to maybe help a little. Does anyone know what the sound might be?
