Is there a way to tell if mechanical switched engine or transmission?

Dropped car off shady car repair shop. Been few days and they added a few more for what seems to be simple fixes.

I get maybe ordered parts. But my mind is racing that they are swapping part since low miles car.

Can I tell when I get the car back from like vin number? Would it match engine serial number or something? Just worried they keep stalling and shady. Regret even going there.

It's an 05 ford.

You took a car to a shady car repair shop and now you are worrying. You need to get your head examined.

Get some sleep.

Time to get it out of there and find someone who knows what they're doing. Just show up don't call them and tell them you're coming. If it needs to be towed wait till you get there and call for a tow then. Tow company might get there before you do warning these idiots your on your way

They didn't switch engines from a 14 year old Ford.

Bring it to a new AAA approved repair shop. Have them document absolutely everything. Bring in the repair receipts from the prior services. If things don't match up, or the previous shop did damage, you can report them to the state and you can pursue in civil court.

It's possible if they've had your car for weeks and they think your wasting time or something… My friends car had bits switched because he left his car at the garage for like 3 months waiting for his ignition to be fixed coz they did a temp fix which meant he had to use a screwdriver to start his car (dodgy I know) they then kept telling him to wait obviously coz they took bits off his car and were waiting to get the new bits to put back on so we found his spare key to unlock it and stole it back one night to find out his spark plugs where all mismatch coz they were switched and they also stole his lower engine mount obviously for another car and that's why they were stalling him on giving it back… So things like that do happen but you should make sure your not paranoid first
