Is there the way to reprogram or remove rev limiter?

I have 2001 Ford Taurus ses and mines has rev limiter 5k rpm, and try to set to 6500 rpm would be perfect for accelerating or even more.

How about 7500 rpm?

Good thing you posted this in maintenance and repairs - cause you would need some major repairs if you could (which you can't)

Your engine would blow long before It hit 6500 RPM. You can't just change the limiter without upgrading major components like valves and timing.

Best bet get about 60 grand and go buy a 2016 shelby with the 5.2 they redline at 8250 rpm

The rev limiter is there to protect the motor. Not to just keep you from going fast.

They do it on motorcycles all the time. But who would want to do this on a Ford Taurus is beond me after all it is not exactly a sports car to begin with. Now on a Mustang GT you would be in luck.

"perfect for accelerating or even more." or wrecking your engine. You clearly know all about engines.

You can reprogram on a car's ECU to edit rev limiter on a computer.
