Is the 351 Cleveland Ford's best V-8?
Is the 351 Cleveland Ford's best V-8? - 1
If thats the best henry made no wonder ford has left Australia. Nothing to write home about an old carbed v8.
Best since the flathead (?)
Once upon a time, yes. However, many preferred the Windsor.
The 'C' had a good set of heads, but the crankshaft oiling left a LOT to be desired. The 'W' had weak heads but a dynamite bottom end. It was all decided when Trick Flow made the first set of good breathing heads for the 'W' - It then had everything!
- In what vehicle was the Ford 351 Windsor 4-Barrel put in? I got a Ford 351 Windsor 4-Barrel in my 1966 Ford Galaxie but I don't know what vehicle it was taken from lol.
- Do 164 tooth flex plates interchange between 1977 351 Windsor and 400 Ford engines? I know the bolt patterns are the same and balance weghts changed on the 302 in 1981 to 50 oz from the 28.2 and that both Windsor and Clevelands used the 28.2 oz. What I want to know is are the dimensions the same from the flange surface of the crankshaft mount to the bolt mount for the torque converter and is the balance weight located in the same place on the flex plate relative to the bolt pattern.
- I have 1977 ford f150 with a 351 engine in it. I replaced the fuel pump and two filters. It dies often? I have replaced the fuel filter before the fuel pump and the fuel pump aswell as the fuel filter at the engine. Also a new tank. It likes to die. What may be my problem?
