In what vehicle was the Ford 351 Windsor 4-Barrel put in?

I got a Ford 351 Windsor 4-Barrel in my 1966 Ford Galaxie but I don't know what vehicle it was taken from lol.

Ford started putting carbureted 351W's in Fords in 1969 up until 1991 when they went fuel injected and started calling them "5.8's" and they were used up until 1996.
You name it and it might have had a 351W in it. Mustangs, speedboats, vans, trucks, police cars, and most midsized Fords through the 1970's through the late 1980's.
There should be a "casting number" on the side of the engine block just above the starter. There are any number of Ford parts/casting number decoding sites online. Generally W's carry a truck or "full sized Ford" marking. The full sized Ford number was found in just about anything including Mustangs so isn't' terribly helpful. The number will tell you what year and whether it is a "truck" engine or not. Not much difference but truck engines are considered slightly better, depends on the year though.

Its probably from a higher end Mustang (GT or Mach1).

  • Is a face lift for a vehicle a new generation for a vehicle? I heard that in 1989 Ford Ranger received a facelift but was a new generation or just a minor update that did not change the complete model of the vehicle?
  • What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
  • Do 164 tooth flex plates interchange between 1977 351 Windsor and 400 Ford engines? I know the bolt patterns are the same and balance weghts changed on the 302 in 1981 to 50 oz from the 28.2 and that both Windsor and Clevelands used the 28.2 oz. What I want to know is are the dimensions the same from the flange surface of the crankshaft mount to the bolt mount for the torque converter and is the balance weight located in the same place on the flex plate relative to the bolt pattern.
  • Windsor 5.4L built in 2002? I have a 2002 ford f150 Harley davidson edition pickup. The specs state it having the triton 5.4l v8 supercharged sohc engine. When I look at the drivers side valve cover the sticker says Windsor 5.4l built in 2002. Should the Windsor engine be in this pickup? Is triton the same as Windsor? N
