If Republican President Lincoln had visited the Red Hen before going to Ford's Theater, would he have been assassinated by the owner?

Would he have been able to eat cake?

You know the rumor I'm talking about.

Probably. Same party, different Liberal pulling the trigger.

May have.

Lexinton Virginia was in The South, and The Secret Service did not yet exist. Or at least not the Presidential Protection division. Grant started that.

Probably not, people knew how to act like dignified, proper adults back then.

Likely, yes.

I don't know. Was the Red Hen owned by John Wilkes Booth back then?

No. First because the owner of the Red Hen did not engage in, or even call for, violence. She exercised her right as a businessperson to not serve someone.

Second, Lincoln was not engaged in objectionable behavior which required censure.

Third, current Republicans routinely defend the people who actually were trying to kill Lincoln. It's common for Republicans to defend the Confederacy and Confederate monuments when it was a Confederate sympathizer who actually killed Lincoln.
