If a New car cost more than your home why buy it?

I have a house that I own outright. And it cost me around $30,000 and a New car from the Ford dealer will cost me about $35000. Why buy it? Isn't car just suppose to get you from point A to point B and back to point A?

No kidding, prices are insane. I bought a house to live in while i remodel it, for $22,000. It is fairly nice for a 2 bedroom and 1200 sq ft. My business that i operate requires me to drive about 35,000 miles a year, a lot of that pulling a small trailer, a lot of times out of state. So a used older vehicle without warranty that was not as dependable was not an option. Nobody wants to lose out on a job just cause you broke down in Arkansas at 3am on the way there. SO, cost of new F-150? $42,000 -.- almost twice the price of my house. It sucks but sometimes its just what you gotta have to know your gonna get there. Now if you just work down the road and go get groceries, yea, i wouldnt be spending that on a truck, no way haha

To impress your friends, neighbors and relatives! I use the point A to point B method, so I agree with you, but some people don't see things that way. They get their self worth by their possessions. I get my self worth from within, from my knowledge.

Because it's a free country. If we sold every car in the driveway, we could buy another house, exactly like our current home. 3 story Spanish style in Beverly Hills, CA.

You can sleep in your car. You can't drive to work in your house.

That said. The most expensive car I've ever owned cost me $6500. I paid $93,000 for my house.

You can't get much for $30k in a house.

My current car is worth maybe $1500. Its just not important to me to have a real expensive car or house or a smart phone or cable TV.

I have Netflix, voip & a $10 a year emergency cell phone.

You can't text me. You can email me.
