- What would cause an ignition coil to fail repeatedly on a 1997 Ford Thunderbird? The car has 65,000 miles on it and has received regular tune ups and oil changes but over the past year or so it leaves me stranded every 3 months or so leaving me to have it towed to the nearest mechanic--including the Ford Dealer once. Every time I'm told it was the ignition coil and it is replaced and the car runs fine for several weeks until the next incident.
- My ford focus has just had a new coil pack fitted, but the engine management light is still on? The garage has said that it could be the auto sensor… What is this? Will it be an expensive fix? Advice please!
- Do petrol cars have Coil Packs? Sorry if this sounds like a ridiculous question but I'm clueless when it comes to the mechanical side of cars. My car is running lumpy and I've been told to try changing the coil pack as its common to break on these cars (2004 Ford Focus 1.6 Petrol). I said to my brother about it and he told me that no petrol cars have coil packs. I think he's wrong so I want a second opinion. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you for your replies in advance and Merry Christmas!
- Will this coil pack work with my ford fiest? I have a ford fiesta 2003 1.25 74bhp 55kw, the part number for the coil pack is 988f-12029-ac. I have been looking on ebay and there seem to be a few variations of this part ie 988F-12029-AD, 988F-12029-AC and 988F-12029-AB, what are the differences between these? I have brought a part not long ago and it didn't fit, so really i don't want to make this mistake again. Can anyone help me out?
