It is 21 years old is all I can tell you from the information you provided which is nothing.
Based on the excellent description you provided of the problem, anything from being out of gas, a blown engine, an improperly installed fuse, a misfiring spark plug or a family of badgers living in the engine compartment could be the cause. 
Only a mechanic can do that for you.

- Need help figuring out what is wrong with my 1998 ford ranger? I have a 1998 ford ranger 3.0l 4wd. Anyways, I drove it home and it wouldn't start the next day. So, I checked the fuel pressure at the rail and it was 0psi. So, I pulled the bed off right quick and checked the voltage to the pump. The first pin had 5v, middle pin has 0v, and the last pin had 5v. I checked the relay and it was good… Any ideas on where else to look?
