Would a 2013 ford fusion be good to take up PA mountains?

I have a 4 cyl 2013 ford fusion that I just bought, and we take a trip once a year to PA and my mother would like to take my car this time around. I've only ever taken 6-8 cyls through there and am worried I might not be able to make it up the mountains with 4 people and luggage to boot.

It will be good enough. Do not expect the power of a 6 or an 8.

Pennsylvania has hills, not mountains. If you want to see mountains you need to go west to Sierra Nevada.
Whatever!

You have a Fusion, I had a Pinto.
2013 Ford Fusion: 2.3L, 160 hp, 156 ft-lb.
1972 Ford Pinto: 2.0L, 86 hp, 100 ft-lb.

I drove my Pinto up the Tioga Pass Road, at night, mostly doing 70 mph. Average 3% grade, one part with an 8% grade.
As the specs show, your Fusion has nearly double the horsepower, with half again torque. You will have NO PROBLEM!
(Unless you are like my brother and refuses to use the upper RPM range that the engine is capable of.)

HI so as usual you have no idea just how capable cars are today now ford produce a 3 cylinder car which can tackle any hill. Now if we where talking about a FIAT 500 then yes you would need to have concerns. They do have issues even in low gear with a 1:6 hill here in England.

Yes.

It'll be fine.
