Why doesn't my car start?

I bought my in October of 2014. It's a 2011 Ford Fusion. I had no problems with my car until I went to start it this morning for work. And it didn't start! No sound, nothing! It's completely dead. No engine light went on the day before or ever. I looked at battery and it's fine. It's a new battery. So what's going on?

It is either a bad battery(which is highly possible) or maybe the alternator. If you can't even hear the engine trying to turn over(the whirring sound when you turn the key), then it may be the battery. Easiest way to know is take it to advanced auto or another shop and have them hook the battery up. They can tell you in a matter of seconds

If you're sure the battery isn't dead it's probably the starter that has stopped working.

Look, this is really simple for a smart guy to figure out, don't waste your time asking here because you can't use the input to fix it your self. There are times when you just have to say "take it to someone that knows" because speculating is a waste of time for all involved.

I could search you up the entire chassis wiring schematic and you would still be clueless. Get a guy that knows wiring. The starter solenoid is piggyback on the starter, there's a starter relay for this but I'm not wasting my time to locate it when you can't look in your owners manual first for the info like an intelligent gent would… Usually el swaray manuel is in the cars glove box.

If it is like a GM starter, the starter grounds through the armature windings to the chassis. The issue will be evident at the starter solenoid with a manual cranking switch that bypasses the ignition key circuit all together in a bullet test of the starter. Then it's time to look further into the starter relay and ignition switch power feed to determine the issue. See, I lost you already and now you know you need a qualified person to figure it out post haste.

"Looking at the battery" does you no good! New batteries don't work if they're not being charged by the alternator or if you left a light on and drained the battery over night. Charge the battery with a portable battery charger set to 12 volts, 10 amps, for 6 hours. Then go to Advance Auto and have them test the battery and charging system. They do it for free. Don't jump the battery and try to charge it with the alternator. That rarely works and is a good way to fry the alternator.

You Can't " look at a battery "… And tell anything about the ' charge '… Check the cable connections,… Get a battery condition check

Check to make sure the cables are good and tight on the new battery.

It's a new battery? Back up a little. WHY do you have a new battery?
