Looking at a used car and I need some

I'm looking at a 2014 Ford Fusion SE to buy. I'm nervous because obviously it is a big purchase, but also because there are some contradicting reviews regarding it. I've been doing some research on these cars and majority of the reviews are positive, however there are some negative ones (transmission problems). Since some have issues, what are the chances that all or most of the cars will have the same problem? Or are the problem cars just a small percentage of the manufactured cars?

Don't buy it thye just said on those there's a recall where the steering wheel comes loose while driving not worth it major safety issue

My experience is that if their is a manufacturing problem, that the problem will be associated with most cars of that model. Ford has a pretty good reliability record. It is worth getting a online subscription to consumer reports (about $30). To look at their reliability assessment of various used cars. Honda is about the most reliable, toyotas are very good. You are wise to do a little research in making such a purchase.

Has your research been looking on the edmunds.com site? Hope so, because they have more info than anywhere else… And of course, when you decide on any vehicle, you would have a mechanic do a complete inspection before purchase

Make sure you get a Carfax and that the car has not been in a flood (there are many cars that have been in the water with all of the hurricanes)

You can find an unhappy owner of any brand.

But, you'd probably be better off considering an import. Honda, Toyota, Mazda or Hyundai.

Go to the library and look at consumer reports annual buying guide. It will have info on all makes & models f used cars.

  • What are some good things to do to my 2007 Ford V6 Mustang to get some more power and performance? I want to get more power and better performance out of my V6 and no I don't want to trade up for a V8. I inherited this car and its paid off and only has 11,000 miles on it. Not to mention sentimental value so please leave your hate for V6s for someone else. I just want to know some cost effective ways to get more out of my stang. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • I need some opinions on my car? I drive a 2002 Ford Mustang, and it's dark blue with white pin stripes, white lettering on the back, and white stripes below the doors (not in the picture because the picture is old). My question is, should I buy a white hood scoop or a blue hood scoop? Pictures here:
