I drove my Ford Fusion through really deep flood waters and I'm worried
I was stuck out in a bad position where I had no choice but to drive through flood water.
My car seems fine today, however you can never be too sure and I heard it's possible to have long term damage. What should I look out for?
If the car kept running and didn't stall out, odds are you're fine. As a precaution you can check your oil and transmission fluid to see if there's any water in it.
Did you get water in the inside of the car? That is the main problem- mold in the carpet and seats. If no water got in the car should be fine if running fine.
- Will water flood the inside of a car? Say that you drop an empty car into a deep pool of water (deeper than the height of the car), will the inside of the car flood? I know it is a stupid question, but I sort of want to know the answer to that question. I have seen land rovers ford some rivers and they seem fine even when the water was up to the vehicle's hood.
- Why do UK flood signs say Ford? Whenever I see a flood sign I notice that it says "Ford" on it. I was just wondering why it says that and not "Flood"
- Do some people really care that much about driving a really nice car? My dad is perfectly okay with his 1992 Ford Taurus with 210,000 miles on it, no heat (he lives in Chicago btw), no A/C, and a f::::ked up passenger side door. He's not poor by any means, he's a CFO of a bank. He just says that driving that P. Builds character and he only cares about having a car that can take him from point A to point B.
- 2000 ford taurus, is really hard to start, when it does start it idles really rough? 2000 ford taurus, is really hard to start, when it does start it idles really rough until completely warm, we replaced 4 coils and at first it helped but has returned just as bad.
