Will water flood the inside of a car?
Say that you drop an empty car into a deep pool of water (deeper than the height of the car), will the inside of the car flood? I know it is a stupid question, but I sort of want to know the answer to that question.
Added (1). I have seen land rovers ford some rivers and they seem fine even when the water was up to the vehicle's hood.
Yes it will. It happens a lot from storm and hurricane street floods so it will flood for sure if it's emerged in water. It comes they the bottom.
Even if they can salvage it and bring it to life it will always have water damage
Yes it will flood. Most cars aren't built for water fording so if the seals on the doors and such are tight then there's a possibility water will leak in from vents and from unfinished cracks in the car.
Of course it will. Cars have many holes in the firewall so wires, hoses and other things can pass from the motor compartment to inside your car behind the dash. Water will also pass around the doors in the car and through the trunk. Cars are not air tight by no means.
Yes it will flood because most cars are not water sealed so water will come in through the a/c system, windows, floor and all the wholes in the chassis
Yes.
Hi that depends onto make of car a Land rover would sink like a stone a toyota land cruiser just sinks very slowly as it usually floats for a time. So it depends how water tight it is really.
Land Rovers can be set up for deep wading. The best solution is to leave the tailboard down and let the water in. Floating is not controllable so sinking lets you drive
You need to raise the engine air intake above the water and all the breathers. The best option is also to set the alternator up do it can be grounded so it does not short out.
Land Rovers have a plug for the bell housing so water does not get into the clutch and if fitted one for the timing belt housing
Most Land Rovers are diesel and have minimal Interior trim.
- Why do UK flood signs say Ford? Whenever I see a flood sign I notice that it says "Ford" on it. I was just wondering why it says that and not "Flood"
- How to figure out if an engine can fit inside a car? How can i tell which engines fit in which cars. Basically i wanna build up and upgrade an engine until i feel good with it then when i have enough money to restore an old car, i'll drop the engine into the older car. For example i could build up a 90's camaro then brop it in an older car, example-69 mustang
