2007 Ford Fusion stuck in park or neutral?
The car will start and I can remove the key. The shifter will shift into every gear but it doesn't engage at all. Just revs up. When I place it back into park it clicks loudly. It rolls in park and every other gear. When it is in drive and I Rev it the rom and mph gauge Rev up. Have no idea what it is.
Its a internal problem with the transmission if I rev's up and won't move. Find local shop at ATRA.COM for more help
It sounds to me like you have a broken (or disconnected) transmission linkage. Things like this usually set off alarm bells, but the fix is probably a $25 part.
- What would cause my 2004 Ford E350 5.4L 8cyl to have 2,000 rpm at idle and in neutral? The van has 113,000 miles. Plugs changed at 100,000 miles. When started the rpms are at 2,000. Occasionally they will drop 100-200 rpm for 1-2 seconds then right back to 2,000 rpm. While driving there's no problem as long as the van is in drive. Once in a great while after driving around for a while it will be normal rpm when I put it in park. But usually works its way back to 2,000 rpm. Should I try to clean the throttle body or change the tps sensor? Any help will be much appreciated.
- My 2000 Ford Taurus won't shift from neutral to reverse or neutral to park? Its curently in neutral but the steering colum shifter will go down to drive or drive 2 and will go back to neutral, but then it stops so I can't back up or park the car.since it doesn't go into park, I can't even take the keys out of the ignition. Any ideas?
- 2004 Ford Focus, stick shift. When I take it out of gear at a stop light, into neutral, the RPM goes up to nearly 3,000 RPM. Why? When first starting the car, just leaving it neutral, the RPM stays around 2,000. IT only raises when driving, as described above
- Truck gear stuck in Park uphill? My 2002 Ford F150 is stuck in Park up a hill and the gear will not budge. Is there a way to resolve the issue without getting it towed?
