Ford Mondeo 08, key gets stuck on 2 in the ignition?
I have 2008 Ford Mondeo (MK4), since a few day ago everytime I try to start the car the ignition gets stuck on 2. It refuses to go from 2 to 3 which actually starts the car. I have to fiddle around with it and then eventually it will start. Sometimes it will start straight away. I have applied wd40 which helped when the problem first started but now it doesn't do anything. I have no problems turning the ignition from 0 to 2. What could be the cause of the problem? Any help will be much appreciated.
The WD-40 will eventually gum up with age and make it worse. It's a penetrant, not a lubricant. Your key is worn funny. The only fix is to find a good locksmith to make a new key. Copying the old one will just copy the problem.
- How to remove ignition switch Cylinder from 98 ford crown victoria if the ignition cylinder is stuck? I have a 98 crown Victoria. And i used a wrong key by mistake yesterday and now my actual key won't work. I've tried removing the ignition lock cylinder but any video i watch on Youtube tells me to turn the key to replace ignition lock cylinder but i can't do that because its jammed. I've tried jiggling the steering wheel and turning the key but no luck. Pretty sure its the ignition lock cylinder but i can't get the damn thing out without turning the key
- Ford mondeo boot won't open off of dash button or boot handle but will from key fob? I have a 2001 ford mondeo estate and I can't get the boot to open from the dash button or the boot handle but I can from the key fob by double pressing it. I have tried removing the dash burron and reconnecting it with no success this seems to be a common problem on this car yet nobody seems to know the cause
- Key keeps getting stuck in the ignition? I have a 2008 Ford focus, bought the car for my daughter as a starter car for univesritys and just something instead of using the big truck. The key got stuck twice sense we got it a month ago, but it's always in the off position. When you turn off the car took the keys out to fill my car with gas then go pay for it, came back out my keys in then they wouldn't turn until a couple try's. Why is this?
- What should I have with me in case my truck gets stuck? I live in an area that you have to drive off the road to get to a lot of places. Which also means it is really easy to get stuck if you have a smaller truck. I have a 2003 single cab ford f150, it has a lot of power for a truck but doesn't get very good traction. What should I have with me to get unstuck when needed. I already have a hitch and ball mount attached at all times, a heavy duty ratchet set, and a couple of recovery straps.
