Ford falcon timing cover gasket enquiry?
I have a Ford Falcon au 2. And I need to fix an oil leak coming from the timing cover gasket. My mechanic tells me that it's Silicone sealant, is that correct, or is there a part needed?
He is correct. Most oil pans don't use gaskets either. It's called RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) Silicone. It's a great Adhesive/Sealant. O I'm sure they sell a gasket, but silicone will do just fine also. Just make sure its automotive and not household. Go to your local parts store and tell them what you're doing, they'll get you 'The Right Stuff' ;) Habeeka Jamaanemein Subkutch Silicone Mein Kaam Hotha Hai.
