Duplicate to a 1998 key?
Most likely. In my experience with duplicate car keys of various makes from around that time I found it was a bit hit and miss. Sometimes the key would open the door but not work in the ignition. On several occasion I did have duplicate keys that worked, but they always seemed to eventually fail. Perhaps the metal wasn't as hard as the original key.
We have a 1998 ford and had no trouble getting a key, as the central locking chip was not built into the key. If the chip is in the key, it may still be possible, depending on model.
- Lost my only key to my car. It's an 02 ford taurus station wagon and has a chip in the key? Ordered and blank key. Going to get it cut then have it programmed. I have an extra key that will unlock my doors but won't start the car because it doesn't have a chip and isn't programmed for my car. Can I use my key that unlocks the door to get it cut and then use my vin to have them program it?
- My question is about storing a car outside in the winter for a few months? I live in northern Minnesota but I always go south for the winter for about 3 or 4 months. I've got a 2001 Ford Mustang V6 with a hundred and thirty-five thousand miles. I'm planning on leaving it in a friend's backyard for the winter. Is there any precautions I can take in order for the vehicle to not be dead upon my return. I heard turning it on and letting it run once a week will help?
- Can I make my admin key the spare key? I have a 2015 Ford Mustang and I have two keys one is the admin and the another is a spare the admin key is all broken and it falls apart all the time is there a way to switch the admin privileages to the spare and make the spare key the admin key
- If I have a 2008 Mercury Mariner and have the key below could I use the standard key and remote? What I mean by standard remote and key is like the ones Ford, Mecury, and Lincoln came out with at first with just a remote and key. Also how would an extra key cost like the one in the picture above? Would it be cheaper to do the the standard key and remote?
