What is wrong with my car? It was shaking and overheating?

Tonight, I was driving back home, i turned on the heater and it blew cold air! I thought maybe because it's a cold night and it would take few minutes to get warm. I decided to go to a drive through and buy a burger. While I was in the drive through line, my car was shaking and I looked at the rpm, it was really low, under 1000rpm. So I put my car on Park and pushed the gas to 3000rpm when I released the pedal, the car turned off. I put the car back on drive and made sure to press the pedal just enough so the car wouldnt turn off. When I roled my window down to get my burgur I heard this loud noise coming from my engine, it sounded like a blow dryer. I went back to the street then I notice my car is overhearting! The pointer for overheating was all the way to the red zone. I turned on the heater again to try, heater was still blowing cold air. So since I was one block from home I just drove the car home. But anyone knows what's going on?
My car is a 2007 ford focus

Hi a ford car of 8 years old sounds about right that now it is going to cost money. And become a money pit.
yes designed to last 8 years so that about right. And 100k miles if it has gone over that too then that too is the reason. So time to getting checked out as Ford dealer and serviced. They will then explain that it needs regular maintenance and care.

A heater blowing cold is not an indication of a cold night but low coolant level in the radiator.
The bubbling sound when you stopped is the noise of coolant boiling, the hair drier noise is your fan working.
Then you compound the damage by driving home.
Now the the engine has cooled check your coolant level and top up if necessary, then pull the dipstick and check the oil level. If you don't know how to do those two basic tasks park the car up until you do, or find someone to show you how.
You may have ruined your engine or you may be lucky, you won't know until you run it again when the levels are correct.

  • Replaced cylinder heads and head gaskets, but car is still overheating? 97 Ford Taurus, replaced the cylinder head and head gaskets. Car started fine and we let it run for a while before taking it out for a test drive. After about ten minutes the car started to overheat again, coolant came out and steam came from under hood. We also replaced the thermostat. What other possibilities are there?
  • Why is my engine shaking during idle at stops and park? I got a ford 1999 taurus SE with 100,000 miles on it. I just changed the spark plugs and wireset out and it got even worse. I was thinking the IAC might of just gone bad but before I go get one I wanted to ask if there was anything else I could test before buying more new stuff for it.
  • Car shaking and rattling? I have a 2000 Ford Taurus, it was driving fine until to day. The car just started shaking rattling, kinda sound ed like a lawn mower. Also seems to lose power at times and has trouble shifting gears. (It's an automatic). Of anyone can help that'd be great. Could it be the transmission it perhaps bad motor mounts?
