Very difficult to insert key in ignition in 2010 Ford focus What could be the problem?

I have extra key which doesn't work either

Get the lock cylinder replaced. Not a big deal.

Try WD40 in case it's lack of lubrication. Other than that a new lock is needed.

If lubing doesn't help rick is correct - take your key to the dealer and have them setup a new cylinder for you. The cylinder is easy to remove and replace as long as you can get your key in and turn it. Plenty of youtubes on how to.

Problem with the ignition switch

Do NOT use a liquid lubricant like wd40 - that will cause more harm than good… DO use graphite, which is available at home centers and key shops… The graphite is made for use in locks
