Battery terminal on my car is loose and can't be tightened any more. How do I fix it?
2002 Ford Focus ZTS 150k miles
I assume you mean the cable can't be tightened. Should be easy to replace it.
Otherwise, if it is actually a battery terminal, you replace the battery.
Replacement cable ends are available at the auto parts store or replace the cable.
Put some vice grips on it and squeeze…
Tape
Is it a top post battery or a side post battery?
- This is a good one. I have a 2001 Ford Taurus Lx 3.0. I had a loose terminal so fixed that the negative side, ok and then? Found the wire was also loose where the wire nit screws down on altanator. The stand off broke off even. How do you fix that easy out?
- Ford Mustang 2004 car won't start after battery terminal changed? Had my battery in my 2004 ford Mustang changed. The terminal broke and was a little loose, but the car still ran. Today we changed the terminal to the battery and now the car won't start. Every thing was fine earlier with the loose terminal, but when the terminal was changed, the car decides not to start.

- 12v outlet (cigarette lighter) in my 2009 Ford Fusion seems to have come loose. How can I fix this? There's still power coming to it, if I hold my phone charger in a certain angle it will work, but I can't constantly hold the charger while I'm driving.
