Should I invest in a car with AWD or 4x4?

So I live in southern Ohio and I have a very hectic schedule. I'm always on the go and no matter the weather i'm out driving in it. I have a 2010 Ford Focus that I've had for a while and it does fine except snow. I even bought snow tires and they help but because the car doesn't have good ground clearance anything over 4 inches is almost a nightmare trying to drive in. My delima is that it only snows like this 2 or 2 1/2 months of the year and a car like this would almost be pointless as id much rather have something fuel efficient (no matter how cheap gas is right now). Would you suggest something like a Toyota RAV4 hybrid?

I've found that AWD/4WD doesn't help much in the winter. The only things it really does, besides maybe helping you get out of the ditch, is help you speed up more quickly, by giving more traction, and give you a false sense of security. A lot of them are big heavy vehicles that like to slide whenever you turn or stop, and they get bad mileage. However, if you really want something with better clearance I've heard the rav4 is decent in deeper snow.

  • Which automobile make has the best AWD system? Some people think all AWD systems are the same but, they are NOT. They are all engineered and designed differently. For on-road, off-road, snow, and everyday driving.
  • Should the United States Navy have invest in some smaller aircraft carriers instead of Ford and Nimitz class supercarriers ships? Maybe have 5 Ford and 5 Nimitz supercarriers and 10 or so smaller as the French Charles de Gualle or a World War 2 size carrier with a few planes because losing a supercarrier would be a big blow to the US military morale and cost production. Since China and Russia has the S -400 and supersonic missles long range and maybe by the year mid 2040's or so aircraft carriers would possibly be semi outdated and a use of fast large hovercraft and stealth weapons could be the next tech or so
  • I searched on cars.com and found Ford Mustangs with FWD, AWD and 2 wheel drive, are those ads fake? Seriously, there's listings on cars.com with Ford Mustangs and even camaros and challengers that was listed as having AWD or fwd or 2 wheel drive. This makes no sense to me because as Far as I know, these cars only come in RWD! So are these ads false or do these cars actually have the option of changing the drivetrain?
  • How is fording a river in a manual 4x4 different to an automatic 4x4? I had forded a river with a LR Defender before and usually stuck it in Low 2nd gear and push through the river at 2-3k rpm. Luckily I never got stuck in the middle but I remember reading somewhere that it is easier to ford rivers with an automatic gearbox due to the lack of clutch housing? Since automatic gearbox won't really stall in the middle of the river, would it be okay to shift it in reverse if stuck?
