Purchasing a Brand New Ford Focus ZTEC S 1.0L 125PS?

First time purchasing so apologies for my ignorance, the papers we signed on Saturday for the car said it was a Ford Focus ZTEC S 1.0L 125PS EcoBoost and the colour was a Deep Impact Blue, my wife went in on Monday to sign the loan papers and those papers (Pre-Contract Credit Information) say that car is a Ford Focus ZTEC S Na 1.0 125ps, does not mention the color or if its a EcoBoost, is this something to chase up with the dealer?

Yes of course, if the details aren't exactly as described refuse to sign anything before the situation is clarified to your COMPLETE satisfaction. Remember the salesperson wants to sell you a car more than you want to buy it. They don't really care what they say just so long as they get your signature on that contract. Once that's done they move onto the next sale and your chance of sorting on a problem diminishes by about 95%.
Nothing spurs a salesperson on more than seeing their commission walking towards the door. Never be in a bigger hurry to buy than they are to sell.

Hi if you are uncertain always chase up the dealer as they do a make mistakes and be try and hive you off with something else.

There should be a VIN number on the paperwork - match it up to the car's VIN number you are purchasing. Can't get any more accurate than that.

If you use some deductive reasoning you can safely conclude that what you are getting is indeed an ecoboost because there's no other 125 HP 1.0L engine offered. As for the color, it's not mentioned, and that's not unusual, when I sold cars for a living, I usually didn't put anything about the color on the buy order. As long as the VIN is there you can tell what color the car is supposed to be.

I would query the "Na" part.
A 1.0 125PS will always be an "Ecoboost" turbocharged engine.
However in the motor industry "NA" usually means Naturally Aspirated (i.e. Not turbocharged) and if that's what the "Na" in your paperwork is referring to then its referring to a car that doesn't exist and the is no naturally aspirated 1.0 125PS engine. However the "Na" could be referring to something else that I'm not aware of.

  • Do you think the Brand New Ford ranger needs more engine options? I think the 2.3 Ecoboost is very capable, but in many cases, stronger engines distinguish more premium (or) sportier trims from the Base trim. Do you feel that higher priced trims need a V6 to compete against others in the segment?
  • Is purchasing a Ford with 80,000 miles a good choice? So basically my boyfriend and I have been looking for a perfect van to road trip in, and we saw this absolutely perfect Ford Econoline 150 that is cutom made. The interior is in mint condition as well as the exterior and as far as I know the engine and everything is in perfect shape. Basically my question today is if this purchase would be worth it or do fords burn out quickly? The van is 1995 with 80,000 miles and it is $11,000. I think it is pretty good deal but I need a second opinion.
  • My dealership told me to change my oil at 10,000 miles on my brand new ford fiesta? I have a 2013 ford fiesta and my dealership told me that my car only needs to be changed every 10,000 miles.so before my first oil change, I waited til 10,000 miles. Then I was told that my dealership was wrong and now i've been doing it after every 3,000 miles. But i'm wonderin since I changed it after the first 10,000 miles, could that have messed up my engine somehow? It was brand new when I got it. Only had 25 miles on it
  • 2012 Ford Fiesta has no air pressure, brand new air filter? Not sure what's going on with the wife's car. Hot as hell outside but her ac blows like it's on the lowest setting when it's on full blast. I changed her air filter but it didn't help at all. Do these have a cabin air filter? I tried finding out online but can't locate it from the passengers side where they say it is.
