If you correctly maintain a car and replace parts as needed, then it should theoretically last for the remainder of your life. Tie rods are cheap and easy to replace (The most expensive outer tie rods for your vehicle are less that $20 each and inners are around $10, for a total cost of $60 to do both sides). The most difficult part about replacing them is maintaining your vehicle's alignment, but with care, you can keep it close enough to true and you can get a tire shop to check your alignment. Replace both of them, one at a time. Mark and count how many turns you make when removing the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod end. So let's say that you remove the tie rod assembly and the tie rod end takes about 10-1/2 turns to separate the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod end. When you put the new assembly together, feel when the outer tie rod end starts to engage and start counting the number of turns. In our example, you'd count to about 10-1/2 full rotations. Stop, lock the end in place (there should be a nut to tighten). Make sure that the outer tie rod end is greased, and install the new assembly. There, you just saved about $200.

Depends on too many factors. How much you drive, where you live, how well you maintain the car and how well you treat it to begin with.

You can store it in the garage indefinitely. The truth is, how long your car remains serviceable depends on how well you maintain it.

Just keep doing routine Maintainance and also fix stuff as it wears out. My 2008 Focus has just gone in for a major service, plus cam belt and front discs and pads. Still cheaper than getting another car

It will easily go over 200k miles IF the transmission and the head gasket do not fail before. Common of Focuses of that vintage.
