5w30 is fine for a Focus. Fully synthetic in particular is superior.

Don't worry about it.

You should not even worry about that. If you drained and replace your oil, that just wasted a lot of oil. Change your oil filter. Figure out why your engine is low on oil- burning, or leaking? Fix the leak- simple. Fix the burning- not so simple.

That's probably what the recommended weight is.
