I got a 2000 ford focus and the cigarette lighter doesn't work?
I checked the fuse and it's fine, I even replaced it, but it still doesn't work. I've even tried different charging plugs but it does nothing. Why won't it work?
It is dead. Kaput. Expired. Mort. Assuming there's 12 volts present the element has failed. New item required. Very cheap aftermarket versions out there.
Either the internal contacts are corroded, or otherwise damaged or an electrical wire has come loose from one of its contacts. I've attached a video on how to replace the socket on your car.

- What's going on with my cigarette lighter in my Ford Taurus? When I try to plug in a phone charger, it works but I have to play around with the wire because the connection seems weak. I thought it might've been a fuse, but I tried putting a cigarette lighter in and it was hot. What can it be?

I've pulled out the panels behind the 2006 (i think) and I have the panel with the lighter in it (unplugged ofc) Now I'm wondering how I can get this out, I've tried prying it, But it's stuck to the point where it's fully plunged in. -Any ideas?
