How to inexpensively move across country?

I'm currently living in Florida and want to move to Denver. I have family that lives in Denver that are going to let me stay at their house until I find my own place so that's all covered. I'm mainly wondering, how should I go about moving all of my stuff as cheaply as possible? I'm in my early twenties so I don't have a whole lot to move. I have a bedrooms worth of stuff that I have to move i.e. Bed, two night stands, computer desk, dresser, futon frame, and other nick nacks like four guitars(I will not part with any of my guitars) computer stuff, DVDs, games, etc. All I have is a little Ford Focus as a vehicle.

Craigslist the big stuff and get more when you get a new place. Just get there and use their furniture or sleep on the floor. When you get a place go on craigslist and buy some cheap used furniture. All set.

The Focus will not pull anything large enough to hold all your stuff and moving is very expensive. You are charged by the pound and by distance.
Even U-Haul is going to run into a lot of money, but you can tow your car behind the van. I'd downsize everything I could not live without.
If you are staying at someone's home, you are going to have to pay storage for all this stuff until you get your own place. Budget carefully.

I would say uhaul. You have to do the work but coming from a guitarist I wouldn't trust my stuff being hauled by movers.
