How to change a positive cable on a ford focus?

I have a 2000 ford focus and i believe that my positive cable is no good. When i put my key in my car the lights and radio come on and work but when i go to turn on the car all i hear is a clicking noise which i think is the starter. I been having some trouble with the battery for a bit. I been having to move the red wire so that my car will start. Today it just gave up on me so i took out the battery so i can see where the red cable hooks up too. I see that it goes under my engine but other then that i can't tell where it goes too. I'm going to get two jacks to lift my car up so i can get under it and see better. I'm also going to autozone to see if its the battery. But if its not the battery would you think its the cable?

Clean the battery posts and clamps. Clean the insides of the clamps with sandpaper.
That cures 90% of these problems.
But if the battery is about 5 years old or has been dead more than once change it.

Bruce nailed it. But - make sure your radio doesn't need a code, as you may end up resetting the radio and locking it. The amount of used car's I've owned with locked radios…

With any luck you have just enough "slack" in that cable to install a repair kit that clamps over the end of a bare wire. Cut the old cable as LONG as you can, peel back the insulation, install new terminal clamp. Should have them at Autozone, might even come in red or black.

Since you hear a click, the battery cable is just that much less of a potential. The starter itself may have failed.

Ok yeah it was just the battery. I had to get a new one. I never had a car battery that still worked a bit.

  • Where does the antenna cable of an aftermarket radio go in a 2006 Ford Taurus? I'm replacing the factory radio in my 2006 Ford Taurus with an aftermarket JVC stereo. I'm good with everything except where to hook up the JVC's antenna cable. There was no obvious antenna cable on the factory radio and I see nothing in the dash that looks like the cable. I definitely have an antenna on the back of my car. Where do I put the cable?
  • Engine Cable broke on ford fiesta 2011? My car had a hard time turning on this morning, I figured it was because it was cold last night and the lines maybe froze or something. Which probably did. I finally got it to turn on by revving it up a bit. As I inspected my car a bit I realized that a black cable connected to the air filter was broken off. For all I know I've been driving like that for a while and never noticed. Is that something I should get fixed as soon as possible?
  • 2007 Ford Fiesta Ghia, Aux cable? So my mum has the 07 Fiesta Ghia, not my fave car, but she likes it lol. And on journeys we like to listen music. However, with the radio being **** nowadays we often listen to CDs. But on the stereo-dash where you can access "am radio, fm radio and CD" there's also a button for "aux" but I can't seem to find the aux jack anywhere. It would make listening to music alot easier. Anyone know where the Aux jack is in an 07 Fiesta Ghia?
  • I need an audio aux input cable for a 2013 Ford explorer. (Cell phone as input)? I bought one on Amazon and the sound only worked on the passenger side… Anything I need to look for with these things?
