How much will it cost to replace spark plugs for my 2004 Ford Focus with 130,000 miles?
12 bucks
That depends on whether you can replace them yourself or not. If not, then it depends on the labor rates in your area. Since we have no clue where you live we can only guess. If you purchase them yourself, tthe spark plugs themselves will cost only $12 to $20 for a set, plus tax. If a repair shop provides them, you can expect to pay a 50% to 100% markup on that price. Labor for installation at a repair shop can run anywhere from about $70 to $130, but since many shops charge a minimum of 1 hour labor you're probably looking at $100 minimum installation charge. If any of the ignition coils are bad, they'll cost between $50 and $75 each for parts and labor to have replaced.
Less than 20 bucks if you do it yourself. $50 to $100 at an automotive service center.
On a 14 year old car you more than likely will also need to replace the plug wires as they will for sure break when they are removed from the plugs. For plugs and wires expect to pay around $150.
$10 for the spark plugs and 15 minutes for you to put them in one by one so you don't mix up the wires. Lookit:
Even a girl can do it.
