Honda Accord or Ford Focus?

I'm close to buying my first car. I was looking at 2002 Ford Focus for quite a while now, but i stumbled upon an 1999 Honda Accord and i kinda like it. Now i don't really know which one is better. Has anybody had any experience with any of these cars?
Where I live we can't afford newer cars, especially as a first car. Here most of us are buying first cars for a maximum of 2000 euros.
Any advice?

Thank you! Accord has a much better track record. I prefer working on the Accord myself. MUCH bigger aftermarket support for the Accord. Also the focus is considered a "basic" car whereas the Accord is considered Honda's "Luxury Version." HI it all comes back to condition to be honest. Not so much the body and the furnishings but the engine and it's mechanical parts. Mileage the lower the better so th parts will not be worn as much. Yes the Honda is a much better made quality product.
