Ford Focus RS Mk2 running and maintenance costs?
All I've wanted since being a teenager is a Ford Focus RS Mk2 in White! Not I'm 23 I'm looking to get rid of my current car as soon as I get full time work. I have the money for the car and insurance is roughly around £800 which is afforable.
However for all those who own one of these beautys what are the estimated running costs in terms of, cost of a full tank of petrol, mpg, how many miles you get to a full tank? My current car only does about 220 miles on a full tank at £47. (It is 15 years old) I will mainly be doing town driving with abit of traffic
Also how much is maintenance a year on estimate? I've read things about 1st year service, 2nd year service, and 3rd year service. Where the prices increase each year? Can I not just pay a normal service fee at a Ford dealership or get it serviced anywhere else (if I wanted) like you do any other car? Why is there all these special prices.
Also any other advice about owning one that you have would be helpful.
Te cost of a full tank of fuel has nothing to do with the running costs, only the rate at which fuel is used which is greatly affected by your right foot
The insurance is likely to be much more than that at 23 when you come to get actual quotes.
By now that 15 year old will have been trashed crashed and smashed and will be a very poor ownership proposition.
Its a warmed up family hatchback and hardly a car to aspire to now.
Hi the issue is the tuning of this engine. That is why you buy it in the first place otherwise why would you buy one. You could make do with a standard for focus.
so buy what is effectively a race car you need to maintain such a car it it's top of performance.
so where you got such a silly insurance quote. I would suggest it is bent.
the cost is more likely to be 2000 pound a year even with three years no claims. Then we have the issue as soon as you get in an accident it sky rockets the premiums.
so unless you also have a second car for when it is being tuned don't bother it is just like a ferrari a pipe dream
- Ford falcon ba mk2 xr6 drive shaft noise and vibration? So I have just removed my tail shaft in My ford falcon ba mk2 xr6 and replaced the centre bearing and uni joint, after I had put it all back in the car, as soon as I try drive over 20km I hear a loud knocking noise and the car vibrates aggressively, what have I done wrong, could it be the cv joint? When I put it back in I didn't really know how to do it and just had a guess.
- Ford Focus MK2 main fuse? Hi, I have a ford focus MK2 and I think the main fuse might have blown. I have checked all the fuses I can see in the engine fusebox but I'm just unable to confirm which fuse is the main fuse. The website below shows a diagram with labels for the fuses. http://www.autogenius.info/en/ford-focus-mk2-fuse-box-diagram/ If anyone can help out then thank you.
- Ford Focus mk2 2.0 Tdci flywheel? Iv had my clutch and flywheel replaced but I just want to know if it's normal to feel vibration through cutch pedal only when it's about a centimetre of the floor if it's all the way down you can hardly feel it the clutch place said it's normal but this is the 3rd flywheel they have fitted within 3000 miles
- I'm looking to buy a car but scared of the petrol/running costs? BMW 1 series, 5 doors hatchback, 2005, 1.6 litre engine, petrol, how much fuel roughly for full tank. How long would it last me if I do short trips like 4-5 miles everyday? Someone also told me that the petrol automatically goes on a bmw if not in use? Is that true? Will the fuel last me good time with the BMW like it did with my 1.25 litre ford fiesta lx 2004, petrol.
