Ford focus engine problems?
Ok, so i have an 03 ford focus SE With about 180,000 miles on it. It has problems but the shops i have taken it to can't figure out what's wrong. First off, i've noticed the engine revs really high and then slowly calms down when started. Second, i have had alot of problems with it sputtering. It sputters when idling, and when accelerating. Replaced the 4th engine coil because it was apparently misfiring which seemed to fix the sputtering, but it returned in a couple of weeks. Seems to sputter really bad in rain? Lastly, the lights faintly flash. The headlights, dashboard and inside lights. Don't know if theirs a bad connection? Maybe someone can give me answers
Did you renew the spark plugs too. The spluttering may be caused by a faulty ignition coil & spark plug. Try cleaning out the throttle body aswell.
- Shifting problems and intake problems? I drive a 1997 ford ranger with a 2.3l automatic. I have recently experienced a hard shifting in my truck even when I'm not on the gas it has problems shifting. And I cleaned my air filter and filter hose that goes to my throttle body and there was transmission fluid in the hose. What can be causing this and how can I fix it or how much will it cost roughly?
- 2013 Ford Fusion engine problems. What to do? I have a 2013 Ford Fusion that I've had for a little over three years. On Sunday, without warning my car stalled and I got an engine overheated message which happened two times before due to a recall. I was told it would be $7000 to fix my car because it's no current recall. I had a warranty but apparently the warranty has ran out and Ford is saying that there's nothing they could do. Is this right?
- Ford Focus - How much engine oil should my engine be using? I own a 2012 Ford Focus (Mark 3) 1.6 ti vct (petrol) with nearly 19 000 miles on the clock. How much engine oil (in mm) should this engine be using for how many miles of driving e.g. 500ml for 2000 miles of driving.
- Ford Focus 2008 1.6 Engine Lights Flashing/Blinking. Engine shakes when starting up and idle as well. Had smoke coming out yesterday? So yesterday when I was driving my ford focus 08 and stopped at a light, the exhaust started smoking. When I revved more it smoked more, but it was also smoking on idle a little. The CEL check engine lights are blinking slowly when I start up the car. What could this be? I was thinking spark plugs and/or ignition cables.
